So I only just heard about Hyun’s racist tweets today and decided to look her up because I…

Ok, I guess I see what you’re saying. I’m very particular about semantics, especially on the internet where a lot can get lost in translation.

But I do agree, like with anything else well intentioned there are big problems in some of the various SJ circles. It’s not an excuse but it just sucks to know that some of the best anti-racists are sexists, and some of the most amazing anti-homophobics are pretty bad racists, and so on and so forth….

Your language was really general though, and I just wanted to address my concerns lest someone else starts thinking of “social justice as an excuse to be violent towards the oppressors” because then in worse cases stuff like federal judges in Arizona banning ethnic studies because it “fosters hate against white people” happens and it all devolves into a huge clusterfuck.

Basically a blog dealing with racial issues, mostly in America but with some posts about other countries as well. While there will be many posts dealing with the black/white binary, I also hope to shed much focus on race issues concerning First Peoples, Latinos, Middle Easterners, South Asians, East Asians, Southeast Asians, people who are bi or multiracial, and any other minority groups I may have forgotten to mention.
