Supreme Court To Revisit Affirmative Action In University Of Texas Case

racismschool:

According this article, this fall Abigail Noel Fisher is taking an “Affirmative Action” lawsuit to the Supreme Court. Several issues here.

I tried to do some research on this girl and guess what, there is NO ACTUAL REASON for her to believe that her race was an issue. Why is the Supreme Court seeing this case? Money and Politics talk. As with every Supreme Court case, the case has already been to lower level courts and she has lost each time. Now, many of the articles I have found are framing this as an “Are white people getting the shaft” situation. However, if you take a closer look at this article, you will see that what she is actually opposing is that UT is allowed to use race under what they call “Special circumstances.” Because this school HAS this as an OPTION, she has decided that there could be NO OTHER POSSIBLE REASON THAT SHE DIDN’T GET IN. Sadly, she has the money to back up her hissy fit.

Yes, that is what it is folks. There is a REASON she lost on lower level courts. Now, the scary part is that when she goes to the Supreme Court, even though her arguments are non-sense and have already been proven otherwise, she could actually win. This case is being seen as a “Political ploy.” There are several VERY CONSERVATIVE judges on the Supreme Court right now and many of them believe that any sort of Affirmative Action goes against white people. Some have even made previous statements as to this belief.

Now, remember when I did a post about Affirmative Action? Well, then you also remember how I told you that under Affirmative Action, there were MANY things considered that had nothing to do with race. Yet, like I said in that post, many law suites fall under the category simply for political reasons. Under Affirmative Action, this person would be covered because she is a female. Still calling it an Affirmative Action Law suite though aren’t they? See how important words are in our every day life? All the racists have to see are the words “Affirmative Action” and they are off and running. It doesn’t REALLY matter if it actually is, right?

Now, after reading this today, I decided that I would temporarily lift a ban I have on this blog. I purposely keep the discussion about Black/white people (with a few re-blog exceptions) because that is my personal experience. However, when doing research for the post on Minority Scholarships, I came across some interesting information. Since it was about a race that I was not a part of, I wasn’t completely comfortable discussing it. Today, I say fuck that.

You know who should REALLY be upset about this law suit? ASIANS.

I found page after page of information about how Asians had to have a higher performance record to get into the same schools. No, let me clarify that. If a student of every single race was trying to get into the same school and each and every one of these students had the same GPA, Same community service work, were in the same clubs, had the same finances and over all had each and every part of their lives identical, but there was only enough slots for all but one of these students, the Asian student would be the one who wouldn’t get in.

Asians have to have a higher GPA…a higher everything for that matter to get into the same schools. Not higher than one or two racial groups, higher than ALL of the other racial groups. Sadly, my research showed that “Affirmative Action” had very little to do with helping minorities get into college. Yet, my research also showed that colleges had a particular hard on for (possibly) keeping Asians out. This isn’t something that is happening at one or two schools either. This is Nation wide. It’s disgusting.

Yes all minorities should be pissed off about this law suite for the simple fact that it implys that A) Minorities got in simply because of their race and B) She DIDN’T get in simply because of her race.

BUT…Asians should be burning shit to the ground over this. There really is descrimination in college admissions and the group discriminated against is NOT the white folk, it’s Asians.

THANK YOU! The growing institutional discrimination against students of Asian descent in academia is absolutely ridiculous.

Basically a blog dealing with racial issues, mostly in America but with some posts about other countries as well. While there will be many posts dealing with the black/white binary, I also hope to shed much focus on race issues concerning First Peoples, Latinos, Middle Easterners, South Asians, East Asians, Southeast Asians, people who are bi or multiracial, and any other minority groups I may have forgotten to mention.
